Ileana UngureanuIleana Ungureanu, PhD (Syracuse University) graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Victor Babes”, Timisoara in 1995. She completed her residency in Family Medicine in 2000 at the same University. She was part of the first group to be trained in Family Therapy in Romania, training provided by Unite familiale hospitaliere “Sainte-Marie”, Clermont-Ferrand, France and Psychiatric Clinic Eduard Pamfil, Timisoara.

Ileana coordinated as co-trainer a training program in Systemic Family Therapy lead by a team from Athenian Institute of Anthropos, Greece.

In 2006, as a Fulbright scholar, she obtained a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Syracuse University, USA.

Her clinical and research interests include working with trauma and loss issues in the family, as well as Medical Family Therapy with an emphasis on working with families of children with chronic and life-threatening diseases.
